Evolution Motorsports and Aw Designs are proud to announce EVOMSit Software for the 991.2 Turbo S!
Overview
Porsche built the "580hp" 991.2 Turbo S with uprated intake manifolds, fuel injectors, higher fuel pressure, and most notably larger turbo compressors compared to the previous 991.1 Turbo and Turbo S models. These factory improvements were a very welcome addition to the platform based on what we learned working with the 991.1 Turbo, although the claim of a mere 20hp increase over the previous model didn't pass the sniff test. Indeed, when we did GPS acceleration testing on the street and baseline power testing on the dyno, we found the performance of the new Turbo S was extraordinary and well beyond the factory claims. 50-100mph, 60-130mph acceleration, and peak dyno numbers were all just shy of the performance of our 991.1 Turbo EVT640 kit, and we calculate the car is actually producing closer to 625hp as tested with a completely stock car on 91oct fuel! With that knowledge we carried out a software development program aimed at utilizing the capabilities of this excellent OEM hardware along with a common set of proven hardware upgrades to deliver performance to deliver between 690 and 771hp while maintaining the reliability and everyday practicality the 991.2 Turbo S is renowned for!.

How to Purchase and Install
Software can be purchased and installed in-house by us. To install EVOMSit software on the 991.2, the ECU must be removed from the vehicle for the first, initial unlocking and reprogramming process. During this process we read out your car's stock programming code and create your tune based on that code and your requirements based on our questionnaire. The ECU can then be reinstalled in the car and used with no other adjustments needed.
Standard Package
Our Standard Package for $1895 includes a single program (91, 93, or 100 octane AKI; or 95, 98, or 100 octane RON) installed on your ECU. Turning the ECU back to stock can be done by returning to Aw Designs or by having the car reprogrammed at any Porsche dealership or properly equipped independent workshop.
Pro Package
For users wanting the ability to switch between multiple tuned files or to turn their car back to stock, our Pro Package for $2395 includes a second tuned file and our Gen 2 Tuneit OBD Flashing tool Upon the initial ECU removal/reinstallation being completed, the TUNEit tool is mated to the car during a brief process. After sending over the identification from the TUNEit tool, we create and send back the second program to be installed on the car and use at your discretion. Reflashing the car between files is a simple process that takes a couple minutes to complete.
Standard Package users can upgrade to the Pro Package at any time for $695. Contact us for more details.
EVOMS Tuning Philosphy
Founded in 2000, Evolution Motorsports has specialized in modifying watercooled 911 Turbos since the release of the 996 Turbo. Since bringing ECU tuning in-house under the EVOMSit banner in 2008 we remain one of the only exotic car tuners to develop both hardware and software upgrades together in tandem. This allows us to design software with a better understanding of the design, capabilities, strengths and weaknesses of the hardware over which it controls from the air filter to the engine internals. Our 991.2 development program is built on lessons learned tuning DFI Porsches dating back to being the first tuning company to get a 997.2 Turbo into the 10s back in 2010 through our findings during the creation of our 1000whp EVT1100 package for the 991.1 Turbo S. During our our initial and ongoing R&D process we create, test, and refine a catalog of tuning files designed to suit a variety of different popular hardware combinations and fuel qualities. Each of these files is rigorously tested on the dyno and street using professional tools and expertise to ensure they the best performance and reliability possible throughout an array of different situations and scenarios. For example, at one point we developed a file that performed exceptionally well on the dyno, but found that it performed poorly on the street due to how the car reacted to heat build up over longer full throttle runs. The software was asking more than its matching hardware could support in the real world. A different approach made slightly less power on the dyno produced far better performance on the street over every type of driving it was tested under as it maintained the car under the temperature thresholds where the ECU would pull back power. By doing this kind of diligence up front, we can deliver tuning for a variety of applications that works well out of the box without having our customers shoulder the burden of testing and developing a file for their car and usage as typical 'custom tuning' requires. Every tune we produce is made to order from our catalog of files to suit the needs of the customer and their car. Our tuning process starts by filling out a questionnaire to gather detailed information about what hardware upgrades the car has, what kind of fuel is used, and how the customer drives the car (purely street use, straight line racing, road course use, some combination of, etc.). This information is used to issue a tune best suited to the unique requirements of the customer and their vehicle.
